What Manheim Voters Are Choosing This November
If you live in Manheim, you’re in Pennsylvania’s 36th State Senate District, and the November 3, 2026 general election pits incumbent Senator James Malone against Republican nominee Tom Jones. Malone, a former Mayor of East Petersburg who became the first Democrat elected to this Lancaster County seat in more than 130 years, has built his first term around working to address rising prices on everything from healthcare to groceries and expanding access to affordable housing. He also champions equitable school funding and backed the 2026-27 budget’s $565 million in adequacy and equity funding to address Pennsylvania’s unconstitutional school funding system, a statewide investment for families across the Commonwealth.
Where Malone and Jones Actually Differ
On the issues Manheim families raise most, the records point in different directions. Malone backed the 2026-27 budget’s $1 billion in homeowner property tax relief, an average of over $350 per homeowner, plus more than $200 million through the Working Pennsylvanians Tax Credit, while Jones wants to eliminate several taxes, including the corporate net income tax. On data centers, Malone is demanding the PA Senate come back into session to vote on the bipartisan moratorium bills, SB 1345 and HB 2496, giving municipalities a say, while Jones, as a state representative, voted against water-use reporting and renewable energy requirements for data centers.
Why Malone Is the Right Choice for Manheim
Manheim voters who want lower everyday costs, fair school funding, and local control over data center development should support James Malone, because his record in Harrisburg already delivers on all three.
